Michael Bay will not direct Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The latest news is that Disney and Jerry Burckheimer already met with Mike Newell. Mike Newell is not officially signed it but there are high expectations that he will take the offer.

His previous works include Bad Blood, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Donnie Brasco, Mona Lisa Smile, and the latest Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. He has an extensive range on the movie genres, directed from comedy to romance and fantasy-action.

Disney has set July 10 next year for the movie release date in USA. The script has already been completed. Jefferey Nachmanoff, the writer for The Day After Tomorrow, and video game creator, Jordan Mechner, wrote Prince of Persia movie script.

The movie’s script is based on the video games. The story is about an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world.

Still discussing about movie soundtrack. Most likely, the pace and genre of movie soundtrack is following the theme of movie. For fantasy theme, like Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter, the entire movie soundtrack will relate to Classic Orchestra music. Movie about speed, like Fast and Furious franchises relates to hip hop and beat music tone.

If you like futuristics action movies like Matrix, they tend to feature Rock music. But, if you like countryroad action movies like The Dukes of Hazzard, the theme won’t go anywhere besides country. Wanna grab free ring tones? There are tons out there in the Internet. Choose your favorite genre, whether it is rock ringtone or country ringtone. May you can share your favorite songs to others.

Happy new year everyone! Well it’s 2008 and lots of movies will be coming to the cinema near you. This is the year of wild imagination and sequels. Starting with Rambo on January (guess they just call this Rambo and not Rambo 4!, following the trend of Rocky) and then NYTimes best-selling adaptation, The Spiderwick Chronicles on February 14.

Continue on we got The Iron Man (comic based movie, which is one of my personal favorite), Speed Racer (yup! THE SPEED RACER, directed by the The Wachowski Brothers), the next book based Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and many more! Yes, I’m not forgetting about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Wall-E, Hellboy 2, The Dark Knight, Dragon Ball (yes, Akira Toriyama’s Dragon ball), and of course Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Still unconfirmed (or at least no trailers) is the Bond 22 (more Daniel Craig I presume) and Toy Story 3 (I doubt this one, Pixar are not really into sequels). What can I say! It’s a lovely year for movie-addict and fans of fantasies. Hope they won’t screw up Dragon Ball again. We will list upcoming 2008 movies in separate page.
