Yes it is official. And it is already begun the production in New York. New Line and HBO finally announced their partnership on the movie in July 2007. Michael Patrick King will be the director and producer.

The four central actresses remain the same, Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobes and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York. Chris Noth also signed in as the fabulous Mr. Big. The film will take shoot in New York, Rodeo Drive, Malibu, and Mexico.

Jennifer Hudson plays role in this movie. She is starring as Carrie’s new assistant, named Louis, described as a fashionable and sharp African-American woman, moved from St. Louis to New York to find love.

There is a serious buzz about Sex and the City: The Movie’s plot story. From the production photos, there are pictures of Carrie Bradshaw wearing wedding gown (or white dress that looks like wedding gown?) with veil on her head and also bouquet of white roses in her hands. Will Carrie Bradshaw tie the knot? Will it be with Mr. Big?

The movie will be release in USA on 30 May 2008. Will this movie compete with the other summer blockbuster movies 2008? Well, one thing for sure, Sex in The City has a whole wide fan based in the world. Successful novel based series fans will wait for this.
