Batman is not environmental friendly?

Friday, February 29th, 2008

The protest happened in the set of Batman new franchise. The prequel, The Dark Knight is filming in Hong Kong right now. The Director, Christopher Nolan, wants all the buildings and billboards along the set to keep their lights on all night for a week for the purpose of the movie. October Pictures has already sent letters to tenants and management company in 60 buildings.

Christopher Nolan loves Hongkong fantastic skyline at night, and he wants that to be captured in the movie. But this demand is facing protests from the environmentalists in Hong Kong. They said, it is waste of energy. They also complain, why film making is coming before environmental protection. Well, it seems Batman is a superhero that doesn’t really care about environment issues.

The Dark Knight is still on production now, and it will premiere next summer. It is a prequel to the 2005 hits, Batman Begins (HD-DVD and Widescreen). Christian Bale is still becoming Batman, while Heath Ledger will play as the Joker, one of Batman’s nemesis.

There are also Michael Caine as Alfred the butler, Gary Oldman as Lt. James Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Maggie Gyllenhaal replacing Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes, Bruce Wayne’s love interest.

Jennifer Hudson plays role in this movie. She is starring as Carrie’s new assistant, named Louis, described as a fashionable and sharp African-American woman, moved from St. Louis to New York to find love.

There is a serious buzz about Sex and the City: The Movie’s plot story. From the production photos, there are pictures of Carrie Bradshaw wearing wedding gown (or white dress that looks like wedding gown?) with veil on her head and also bouquet of white roses in her hands. Will Carrie Bradshaw tie the knot? Will it be with Mr. Big?

The movie will be release in USA on 30 May 2008. Will this movie compete with the other summer blockbuster movies 2008? Well, one thing for sure, Sex in The City has a whole wide fan based in the world. Successful novel based series fans will wait for this.

Scarlett Johansson & Natalie PortmanImage by índio via Flickr

Well, let see the combination of the cast. The sexy Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring), the handsome Eric Bana (Hulk, Troy, Munich) and the gorgeous Natalie Portman (Star Wars, V for Vendetta). It’s a killer cast for another drama based on history.

The Other Boleyn Girl is a story of intrigue, romance, and betrayal set against the backdrop of a defining moment in history. Two sisters, Anne (Natalie Portman) and Mary (Scarlett Johansson) Boleyn, are driven by their ambitious father and uncle to advance the family power and status by courting the affections of Henry VIII the King of England (Eric Bana).

The movie was filmed in the UK in late 2006, and will be released at February, 2008. This movies is based on Phillipa Gregory’s novel of the same title. Justin Chadwick is directed the movie and Peter Morgan is the script writer. Costumes design is by Sandy Powell who also worked on Shakespeare in Love, and filming locations include Penshurst Place, Knole Park and Dover Castle in Kent, and Bude in Cornwall.

27 Dresses

Do u miss romance comedy ? Well.. I do miss it. After The Devil Wears Prada, I haven’t seen any romance comedy hit the theater. But in this January 2008, you will see another romance comedy. The title is 27 Dresses. Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up), James Marsden (Enchanted, X-Men Trilogy), and Ed Burns (The Holiday) are among the casts.

The story is about a girl name Jane who is idealistic, romantic and completely selfless. She always be a bridesmaid, and a very good 27 times bridesmaid. Always taking care of her friends but never really taking care of her own relationship. When her sister captured her boss (whom she secretly in love with), she begins to examine her always-to-be-bridesmaid lifestyle.

Another sappy romance I guess, but the girls will enjoy it since they have “dresses” in the title. Definitely not men’s movie. 27 Dresses is directed by Anne Fletcher, the director of Step Up, and choreographer on Catch Me If You Can and The 40 Year Old Virgin.
