The protest happened in the set of Batman new franchise. The prequel, The Dark Knight is filming in Hong Kong right now. The Director, Christopher Nolan, wants all the buildings and billboards along the set to keep their lights on all night for a week for the purpose of the movie. October Pictures has already sent letters to tenants and management company in 60 buildings.
Christopher Nolan loves Hongkong fantastic skyline at night, and he wants that to be captured in the movie. But this demand is facing protests from the environmentalists in Hong Kong. They said, it is waste of energy. They also complain, why film making is coming before environmental protection. Well, it seems Batman is a superhero that doesn’t really care about environment issues.
The Dark Knight is still on production now, and it will premiere next summer. It is a prequel to the 2005 hits, Batman Begins (HD-DVD and Widescreen). Christian Bale is still becoming Batman, while Heath Ledger will play as the Joker, one of Batman’s nemesis.
There are also Michael Caine as Alfred the butler, Gary Oldman as Lt. James Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Maggie Gyllenhaal replacing Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes, Bruce Wayne’s love interest.
